It is empowering to sit in the drivers seat. The continuous pressure from my clients, team, family, friends, etc. was deflating me completely. Coaching has allowed me to take control and now I know it doesn't have to be that way, I don't only perform better but I'm actually enjoying myself.
1-ON-1 COACHING
For the past 15 years I have been working with professional services firms (e.g. McKinsey, De Brauw, Clifford Chance and several niche firms) and I see that lawyers are increasingly expected to master strong leadership skills in addition to their distinctive legal expertise. High demanding clients want empathy from their lawyers as much as they want legal results and within the firm there is more focus on effective and inspirational leadership.
In an up-or-out system you are expected to continue to develop and grow as you become more senior and this doesn't stop once you've made partner. Effectively leading a team, communicating clearly, attract new clients, lead your practice, etc. On top of this you want to maintain a healthy work-life balance and spend time with your family and friends. One-on-one coaching can help you to become aware of what drives you and how you can best achieve what matters most to you.
INTERVISIE / PEER-TO-PEER SESSIONS
I'm a certified facilitator and facilitate peer-to-peer sessions for law firms. These sessions meet the NOVA requirements (8 hours total) and lawyers can earn 4 PO points.
